West Bengal’s Samaya Dharua tops All India School Chess Tournament , Assam is in the second to fifth position
Guwahati: West Bengal’s Bani Mandir Railway High School is at the top of the All India School Chess Tournament being held at The Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati since November 14. Dabaru Samayya, who represents the institute of education, has so far topped the table with a seven-point score of 7 points after playing seven matches. Sudarshan Public School in Guwahati is at the second position, Marias Public School is at the third and fourth position respectively and Maharishi Vidya Mandir is at the fifth position. Mrunmoy Rajkhowa of Sudarshan Tanmoy Rajbanshi of Marias Kaushin Das Of Maharishi Nihad Islam Bora of Marias has managed to make it to the top 5 of the list so far with six points each.
It is to be noted that 224 chess players from Rajasthan, West Bengal , Tripura , Sikkim , Meghalaya , Arunachal , Bihar and Assam are participating in the all India chess competition organized under the initiative of All Assam Chess Association and in association with SLACs of the State Government. A total of nine rounds of the school chess tournament in the Swiss League system is held tomorrow i.e. on November 18.
