Mew Delhi: Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor S Venkitaramanan has passed away. He was 92 years old. Venkataramanan breathed his last on Saturday morning after a prolonged illness, family sources said.
He was the 18th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He also works in important positions like secretary in the Union Finance Ministry.The South Indian economist was rbi governor for two years from 1990 to 1992. Needless to say, it is one of the most challenging times for the Indian economy.
