UGC directs Maharashtra universities to celebrate RSS leader’s birth centenary

New Delhi: The UGC has asked universities and affiliated colleges across Maharashtra to encourage students to participate in the birth centenary celebrations of Sangh leader and ABVP founder member Dattaji Didolkar. The youth wing of the Shiv Sena (UBT) has objected to the UGC’s letter and urged it to be withdrawn.
New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has urged universities and colleges across Maharashtra to encourage students to participate in celebrations to mark the birth centenary year of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Dattaji Didolkar.

In a letter dated November 21, the UGC said, “Late Dattaji Didolkar is an inspiration to thousands of students and youth of India. He was the founder of many social and other organizations. This year is his birth centenary year. In this regard
