Eminent wildlife activist Dr. Purnima Devi Barman honoured with Kidveda Preschool Change Maker Award

Guwahati: Dr. Purnima Devi Barman, a wildlife activist renowned for her outstanding work in the field of wildlife conservation, was honoured with the Kidveda ChangeMaker Award-2023 at the annual event “Kid Fest 2023” organized by the Kidveda Group of pre-schools in Guwahati. The award is intended to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions towards positive social impact. Dr Barman is the first person to receive this prestigious honour. She has been working for a long time to preserve the larger adjutant stork, locally known as Hargila.

The Kidveda Changemaker Award ceremony and “Kid Fest 2023” were held at Pragjyotish ITA Maskhowa in Guwahati for two days from Sunday. It featured more than 2,000 children from 26 streams of Kidveda Pre-School, showcasing their talent through various themed performances.In addition to the students of Kidveda Pre-School, various programmes were also exhibited on the occasion by children from marginal communities in association with Robinhood Army and State Home for Women and Children, Jalukbari, Guwahati. The move is aimed at providing a platform to interact, perform and integrate with poor children.
Dr Purnima Devi Barman, who won the Kidveda Changemaker Award , highlighted the importance of sustainable living for children and parents. The chief guest at the event, Dr Ranjit Sharma, principal of Handique Girls’ College, encouraged and inspired the attendees with an inspirational speech.RJ Mandy expressed happiness over attending the event and inspired the enthusiastic young participants with his speeches.
