Supreme Court dismisses Mahua’s plea for urgent hearing

New Delhi: Mahua Moitra was accused of asking questions in exchange for money in the Lok Sabha. Following the recommendation of the Ethics Committee, the TMC MP was expelled from the Lok Sabha. After this, Mahua approached the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, sought an urgent hearing on the plea. But the appeal was rejected. The Supreme Court said it was not possible to hear the case quickly. At the same time, it is said that if the plaintiff wants, he can draw the attention of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Following the order of Justice Kaul, Moitra’s lawyer mentioned before the bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. He has sought a hearing in a day or two. The Chief Justice said, “Apply via email. We are looking into the matter. ”
