New Delhi: A BJP MLA in Uttar Pradesh has been sentenced to 25 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl. Dudhi MLA Ramdulare Gond’s post is also set to be dismissed. Nine years ago, he was accused of raping a minor girl. On Friday, the MP-MLA court in Lucknow also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Ramdulare.
In 2014, Ramdular’s wife was the head of a gram panchayat under the Dudhi assembly constituency. Besides, Ramdulare was known as Bahubali in the area. He was planning to enter the big arena of politics. On November 4, 2014, a complaint of rape of a minor girl was registered against him at Mayorpur police station. That case was ongoing.
Ramdular had left Xi in the last assembly polls. He contested the election from Dudhi as a BJP candidate. Subsequently, Ramdular’s case was transferred from the trial court to the MLA-MP court. The court found him guilty on Tuesday. Sentencing is scheduled for Friday.
