New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tributes to the martyrs of the Indo-Pak war on Vijay Diwas. It was on this day in 1971 that Pakistan surrendered to India during the Bangladesh Liberation War. The Prime Minister recalled the glorious history of December 16.
Paying tributes to the heroes of December 16, Modi wrote, “Today is Vijay Diwas. The dedication and valour of the warriors of that day is still shining in our memories. Their dedication and sacrifice is a matter of pride for the countrymen. Their indomitable desire will remain in our hearts forever. India salutes their courage. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tributes to the martyrs on the occasion of Vijay Diwas.
