4-year-old minor girl rapist sentenced to 25 years rigorous imprisonment by Guwahati Special POCSO court

Guwahati:The court sentenced the four-year-old girl rapist to 25 years rigorous imprisonment. The verdict was delivered by the Special POCSO court in Kamrup City.The court has awarded the sentence to the 38-year-old rapist, Laben Bhuyan.Laben was convicted under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and Section 376(AB) of India.The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the rapist.

Failing to pay the fine will have to serve an additional three months in jail. On the other hand, the victim is still unwell. The court also ordered the minor to recover a compensation of Rs 2 lakh. The court passed the order to the district legal services authority. The incident took place on January 30 this year. The court had been conducting speedy trial of the case since March. The court gave its verdict today after completing the trial within nine months.
