New Delhi: Highlighting a rare appreciation, the Beijing-based Chinese newspaper Global Times has published an article under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising India’s significant steps in the field of economic development, social governance and foreign policy.
The article, written by Zhang Ziadong, director of the Centre for South Asian Studies at Fudan University, Shanghai, sheds light on India’s remarkable achievements in the last four years. It recognises india’s strong economic growth, improvement in urban governance and changes in attitude towards international relations, especially China. “For example, while discussing the trade imbalance between China and India, Indian delegates had earlier focused mainly on China’s move to reduce the trade imbalance. But now they are focusing more on India’s export potential,” the article added.
