Purulia: The Kashipur police have registered two separate cases in connection with the assault and vandalisation of vehicles by sadhus for allegedly stalking young women. Police said a case of attempt to molestation has been registered against five persons, including three sadhus, on the complaint of a resident of Gaurangdi village. On the other hand, a case of assault and vandalism has been registered against 150 unidentified people in Gaurangadi area on the complaint of an infected sadhu. A total of 12 people have been arrested in this connection. The 12 accused will be produced before Raghunathpur court on Saturday.
According to locals and police, five people, including three sadhus, from Uttar Pradesh were going to Gangasagar in a four-wheeler on Thursday.
