New Delhi: A year ago, Joshimath, the ‘door of Devbhoomi’, was hit by a land disaster. Cracks were created across the city. Geologists had said that much of Joshimath was ‘submerged’. Yet the state and central administration were trying hard to save the sinking city.
Recently, it was reported that at least 1,000 structures in Joshimath will have to be demolished immediately if the effort is successful. Most of them are common people’s homes. But the residents of Joshimath are unable to get rid of their homes after receiving an eviction notice from the government.
The crack disaster in Joshimath was seen last year i.e. in January 2023. Since then, the state administration has tried to solve the problems of Joshimath. The report was also submitted by the Central Disaster Response Force.
