Guwahati: Lok Sabha elections are round the corner. At a time when there has been a kind of breakdown in the India alliance in the country, the Congress has made electoral numbers for a few parties in Assam. The party has convened a meeting of the pradesh election committee on January 29.
Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Bora said that on that day the issue of reports sent by blocks and districts will be discussed. The panel will be announced as per the block, district recommendations. There will be no more than three members in a panel. The necessary decision in this regard will be taken by the scanning committee. The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee will conduct a survey based on the report of the scanning committee. Bhupen Bora also said that there was an hour-and-a-half discussion of opposition unity with Rahul Gandhi in Gahpur. He also said that Rahul Gandhi had suggested keeping this alliance till 26. The state Congress will send a notice to the district presidents in this regard. He also said that 14 parties have accepted rahul Gandhi’s advice.
