New Delhi: Jatt India is back in the coalition. Even before Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra enters Uttar Pradesh, the RLD in the state has now indicated that it will turn its back on the alliance. If all goes well, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) is likely to join the NDA.
According to sources, RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary had a discussion with Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav on the issue of seat sharing in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh had also promised seven seats to the RLD. However, Jayant has shown more interest in joining hands with the BJP’s ND alliance. He has already met the top leadership of the BJP in Delhi to discuss the seat sharing with the BJP. The saffron party has announced that four seats will be given to the RLD. The BJP is expected to cede four seats — Kairana, Baghpat, Mathura and Amroha — to Jayant Chaudhary’s party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
