2.5 lakh in a month and a half! Twenty lakh a year, women earn by begging

New Delhi: I didn’t have to go anywhere, I didn’t have to do any work. He just sat at a busy intersection in the city with a begging basket. He has earned Rs 2.5 lakh in the last one-and-a-half months. A woman from Indore has confessed.

She and her eight-year-old daughter were “rescued” from Bhawarasla Square in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore city on Wednesday. This junction on the Indore-Ujjain road is popularly known as Lob-Kush Square. On the instructions of District Magistrate Ashish Singh, the police conducted a special drive across the city. The woman and her daughter were “rescued” during the operation.


According to the police, the woman told the police that she has been begging in the area for the last 45 days. And in these 45 days, he has earned 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees. He sent Rs 1 lakh home. Her two other children are being raised in the house in Rajasthan by their grandfather and grandmother. Of the remaining Rs 1.5 lakh, Rs 50,000 has been deposited in the bank. He spent $50,000 for personal reasons. However, he did not disclose the cost to the police.

When the police “rescued” the woman on Wednesday, she was carrying Rs 19,200, police said. The woman told the police that she had earned the money in the last seven days. Her eight-year-old daughter also earned Rs 600 from Wednesday morning till 1.30 pm.
