New Delhi: Marines were imprisoned for 18 months. In August 2022, Qatar’s intelligence agency detained eight former naval officers. They were working in private companies in Qatar. They were accused of spying in Israel.

Qatar has released eight Indian Navy personnel who were sentenced to death. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Monday, seven naval officers have already returned to the country. The eighth will also return home soon. Needless to say, this is a great diplomatic victory for New Delhi to be executed, released from there, and even returned home in a healthy body. Navy officers detained in Qatar are giving credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this. Modi’s intervention is believed to have prompted the Qatari government to reverse its decision.
