New Delhi: Soft and pink fairy floss, some say cotton candy, some say old mother’s hair. It is made with sugar syrup. This cheap food in the fair or in the market is equal to mouth cleansing. Especially children like this food, but what researchers are saying about this cotton candy is quite scary. It causes great damage to the body. Therefore, the Commissioner of Food Safety has directed all the officials to review the matter and take strict action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The Tamil Nadu government has banned the sale of cotton candy in the state. Earlier, their neighbour Puducherry had also taken this decision.
Recently, officials of the Union Territory of Puducherry found harmful (toxic) chemicals in cotton candy during an investigation. Following this, the Puducherry administration decided to completely ban the sale of these candies. Find out why the government has banned it and issued advisories.
