New Delhi: The BJP has easily won a majority for two consecutive terms. This is the third time that Narendra Modi has taken the mandate of the people. The Prime Minister wants to increase the number of seats by relying on pro-incumbency, not anti-incumbency. So his new target is 370 seats for the BJP. Note that the magic figure in the 543-seat Lok Sabha is 272. So it is understood that the ruling party wants to capture two-thirds of the seats. At the two-day meeting of the party’s All India National Council, the Prime Minister reiterated the target. However, he also mentioned the man associated with the number 370, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. The Prime Minister also made it clear that the BJP has to win this number to honour him.

BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde later briefed reporters about the developments in the meeting. Bengal BJP chief Sukant Babu could not go due to illness. However, Dilip Ghosh and Suvendu Adhikari are present. In front of them, Modi spoke about Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee had raised his voice against the special status of Kashmir. He died there. In 2019, the BJP government finally abolished Article 370 and removed the special status of Kashmir. Apart from the Ram temple, one of the core agendas of the BJP was the abolition of Article 370. Modi seems to be emphasizing on this number so that even after five years, the issue of this success remains in the public mind. He also did not miss the opportunity to revive the Bengal BJP by expressing respect for Syama Prasad Babu. Last time, the BJP had unexpectedly won 18 seats in the state. In any subsequent election, however, they could not maintain that graph of performance. This time, the saffron camp is desperate to get close to that seat.
