New Dehi:Almost 67% of children and 57% of women in India reportedly suffer from anemia, as per the data available on the official website of the National Family Health Survey.The National Family Health Survey 2019-21 data on Anemia revealed alarming statistics about its prevalence in the country as it stated that 57% of women between the ages of 15 to 49 years and 59.1% of girls between the ages of 15 to 19 in India are anemic.
The data disclosed that anemia is more prevalent in rural areas where 58.5% of women between the ages of 15 to 49 years and 60.2% of girls between the ages of 15 to 19 were found to be anemic, while 53.8% women and 56.5% of girls in urban areas were anemic.
