New Delhi: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Narendra Modi government at the Centre is under pressure from home and abroad over the farmers’ protest. Farmer unions in Punjab and Haryana have been protesting against the Centre on several issues. The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, an RSS-recognised farmers’ organisation, said the government’s role was fuelling the protests.
The Punjab-Haryana border has been tense for the past few days due to farmers’ protests. Several farmer organisations have been protesting against the Centre. So far, several farmers’ organisations have joined in. This time, organisations close to the Sangh also turned around and supported the farmers’ protest. However, the organization also condemned the violent form of the movement.
