New Delhi: The hijab controversy has resurfaced in Karnataka. A group of college students protested against a young woman wearing a hijab. They came to the college wearing saffron scarves and protested. The incident has brought back memories of the hijab protests in Karnataka two years ago.
In 2022, the then BJP government had banned the wearing of hijab in all educational institutions in Karnataka. But in a few days, several college students started wearing hijab, defying the ban. That’s where the danger comes from. A student of Vidya Soudha College in Hasan also came wearing a hijab. However, the college authorities claimed that the student came to the college with such a cloth wrapped around her head, not hijab. Because there was a problem with his ears, he had to cover his ears.
