UN: In the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), 14 out of 15 countries voted in favor of the ceasefire, while the US did not participate in the vote.
Israel and Hamas have been at war since October last year. Its biggest impact is happening in Gaza. Thousands of people have died in Gaza and millions have become homeless. Look where there are traces of devastation. People are hungry for food, sleep and treatment. Meanwhile, good news has come out for Gaza in the holy month of Ramadan. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Monday passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

The UNSC has passed a resolution for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The resolution was adopted more than five months after the conflict between Israel and Hamas was adopted by the 10-nation Security Council, which was submitted by 10 non-permanent elected members. 14 countries voted in favor of the resolution, while the US abstained.
“The Security Council approved a long-awaited resolution on Gaza that calls for an immediate ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in a post on X. Not doing so would be inexcusable.
