New Delhi: The Long Range Supersonic Missile Assisted Torpedo (SMART) was successfully test-fired from the Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. This missile is going to be a major weapon in the Navy’s submarine-related war. This missile will act as the payload of the torpedo.
The missile has been developed by India’s Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO). The missile was successfully test-fired from Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. Radars, downrange equipment, some ships, electro-optic telemetry systems were monitored throughout the test.
