New Delhi: In the midst of the Lok Sabha elections, the stars of Bihar politics have fallen. Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi passes away At the time of his death, he was 72 years old. He was suffering from cancer for the last 7 months. He breathed his last on Monday while undergoing treatment at AIIMS. Political circles are in mourning.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also expressed her condolences.
Sushil Modi has served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar twice in his long political career. He was one of the faces of the BJP-JD(U) government. Political circles say that he was responsible for the liaison between the BJP and Nitish Kumar’s party. He was recently made a Rajya Sabha MP by the BJP.
