Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Centre (IMD) has expressed fears that the temperature in Delhi will rise further in the next five days.
The mercury in some parts of Delhi touched 47 degrees Celsius once again today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘red alert’ in Delhi. It is because of heatwave that has made electricity demand the highest in the national capital. To save students from the heat, the government has directed schools in the area to schedule summer vacations immediately. Delhi has been getting hotter for the past few days. The temperature in the city was 44.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
