T20 World Cup : Bangladesh lost to India in the warm-up match

New Delhi: Pant stars as India beat Bangladesh in warm-up clash. India proved victory over neighbours Bangladesh in their one-off warm-up match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.


Virat Kohli was rested in Saturday’s warm-up match. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. India’s real objective was to get a feel for the environment and the pitch in the warm-up match against Bangladesh. Although the important batsmen of the team got runs in that match too. Especially Rishabh Pant (53), Surya Kumar Yadav (31) and Hardik Hardia Pandya (40) did well. However, skipper Rohit Sharma got off to a bright start and quickly bounced back (23). For Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan, Shariful Islam Mohamadullah got one wicket each but could not overcome the batsmen of the Indian team.
In response, the Bangladesh camp got a shock when they came down to bat. Soumya Sarkar was dismissed in the first over. Soon after this, Liton Das and Nazimul Hasan Shanto could not settle in 22 yards. Between them, Mohammadullah (40) and experienced horse Shakib Al Hasan (28) fought a bit. In the end, Banga Brigade was able to score 122 runs after batting 20 overs.
