Cabinet meet at Lok Seva Bhawan :The minister will visit the flood-hit districts for three days from tomorrow

Guwahati: Amid the devastating flood situation in the state Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a cabinet meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan on Wednesday . The meeting discussed the latest flood situation in the state. According to the Cabinet meeting, 28 districts have been affected by floods so far.The floods have affected 84 revenue circles in the state. The recent floods have affected 1.134 million people of Assam. The Chief Minister directed all district commissioners to take stock of the damage caused by the floods.

This year’s floods have damaged 40 embarkments in the stagte. Similarly, 922 roads, 52 bridges have collapsed and 38 people have died due to the floods.The Cabinet meeting also mentioned that the funds required for flood relief have been released to the District Commissioners. It was also decided that the government would provide full assistance to the flood victims before 15 August. The minister will stay in the flood-hit districts for three days from tomorrow. It was decided that the ministerial team will also visit Barak next week. The Chief Minister himself will visit the people as per the decision of the Cabinet.
