New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi finally appeared in court. Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi has appeared in a Sultanpur court in Uttar Pradesh on charges of making insulting remarks against Home Minister Amit Shah. Rahul Gandhi appeared before the Sultanpur MP-MLA court in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The next hearing of the case will be held on August Rahul Gandhi was accused of making insulting remarks against Amit Shah while campaigning for the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections. Rahul had claimed that the Union Home Minister had been charged with murder. The Congress leader said the BJP talks about healthy and transparent politics but the party president is accused of murder. Shah was the BJP president at the time.
Uttar Pradesh BJP leader Vijay Mishra filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi for his remarks. In February this year, the court granted Rahul’s bail application and ordered him to appear in person. But the Congress leader did not appear in court. He ignored the summons several times. The court on Friday gave him a ‘last chance’ to appear. Rahul Gandhi appeared in court today.
