RG Kar Hospital rape case: Student protests turned Kolkata into a battlefield

Kolkata: Kolkata has become a battlefield. There are 1000+ students in Kolkata. Thousands of students took to the streets today to protest against the rape incident at RG Kar Hospital. The protesting students organized a protest rally titled Nabanna Abhiyan. However, police set up barricades in several parts of the city to prevent the protesters. Police fired batons and tear gas to disperse the protesters. Many students were injured in the accident.

There were also reports of clashes between police and protesters in several places. The protesters managed to break the barricades at Santaragachi in Howrah. The protesters were shot dead by police. The protesters were shot dead by police. The protesters had marched to surround the West Bengal Secretariat. They were stopped by the police on the way. The protests started from College Square in the West Bengal capital on Tuesday. The students marched towards the Secretariat with the national flag in their hands. But the police brutally attacked them and prevented them. Kolkata Additional Commissioner of Police Supratim Sarkar said the students had no government permission for the ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’. That is why they have been stoped.
