Kolkata: Allegations of molestation were raised against acivic volunteer. The victim of torture is the wife of the influential leader of Uttar Dinajpur and his minor daughter. According to police sources, Sheikh Nazbul Haque joined Islampur Police Station as a civic volunteer . Ten days ago a local woman and her minor daughter allegedly molested by him.
It is alleged that the civic worker also demanded lakhs of by threatening to destroy the social status of the woman. However, since the incident, the accused civic worker was not seen in his Sujali village for a few days. The accused was finally arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged on Monday. Islampur Additional Superintendent of Police Dendup Sherpa said , “A woman complained of molestation against a civic volunteer at Islampur police station on Monday night. His minor daughter was also allegedly molested. The civic has been arrested and investigation into the incident has started.”
