Guwahati: Chief Executive Members of the Adivasi Welfare and Development Council Pitar Dong and Dr Edmond played an important role as mediators in the Adivasi Peace Agreement signed on September 15,2022. A seminar on various aspects of development of Adivasi people was held at Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Hall of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati. The seminar was held on September 6 to create awareness among the Adivasi people. The seminar explained the various facilities provided by the government to the Adivasi Welfare and Development Council. Additional Director and Deputy Director, Department of Handicrafts, North East Regional Office, Guwahati under the Ministry of Textiles briefed on various schemes of the Government of India.Field Officers Smt. Panchi Rajkhowa and Kaushik Das explained the marketing schemes of Coconut Development Board and their details. They said the Adivasi Welfare and Development Council will benefit the Adivasi people of Assam..OSD retired IPS ADGP (SB) Louis Aind , Assam Police ADGP Hiren Chandra Nath also expressed their views , suggestions etc. Sector Head Bank Officers of PNB and BOB spoke about how subsidized loans can be availed and what procedures etc are. The Managing Director, Mahalakshmi Tea Estate and Tajaspati,Tea planter Atikur Rahman also expressed his views in the seminar.
