Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announces the successful recruitment of over 1.24 lakh government employees, highlighting job creation and transparency under the BJP government.

In a recent address, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the BJP government has met its electoral commitment to create one lakh jobs in the state and exceeded this target by hiring an additional 24,645 candidates. This declaration came during a ceremony where appointment letters were distributed to 300 newly recruited employees.

Sarma emphasized the transformation in employment opportunities for engineering graduates in Assam, noting that many previously sought work outside the state due to limited local options. Over the past three years, the government has significantly increased recruitment in various departments, particularly in public works and health engineering.

He attributed this rise in job opportunities to the state’s increased capital expenditure, which has funded key projects like the Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at providing safe drinking water through piped systems to all villages and households.

Furthermore, Sarma encouraged youth to take advantage of upcoming prospects linked to the semiconductor plant being established in Jagiroad. He assured that the recent hiring processes were merit-based, maintaining transparency throughout.

The Chief Minister urged the newly appointed officials to dedicate themselves to the state’s progress and highlighted advancements in forensic science, including an increase in the number of forensic laboratories and plans for a National University of Forensic Science.

Among the recent appointees were 81 Assistant Engineers across various specialties in the Public Health Engineering Department, along with Urban Technical Officers, Financial Management Officers, Senior Scientist Officers, and Junior Officers in the Directorate of Forensic Science. With these appointments, the total recruits under the current state government now exceeds 1,24,645.
