Air India will operate Vistara flights under its own code from November 12, 2024, improving operations and maintaining Vistara’s service standards. Existing bookings will remain unchanged.

Mumbai: Air India has announced that, effective November 12, 2024, it will begin operating Vistara aircraft under a new four-digit code that starts with “2.” This change follows the merger of the two airlines and aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve passenger experience. For instance, Vistara flight UK 955 will be rebranded as AI 2955, making it easier for customers to identify Vistara-operated flights when booking through Air India’s system.Despite the rebranding, Air India will preserve the distinct in-flight experience associated with Vistara, including its menu, service quality, and crew. Additionally, Club Vistara members will transition to Air India’s Flying Returns loyalty program, which will be renamed the “Maharaja Club.”This merger is part of a larger strategy to modernize Air India’s fleet, with Vistara’s catering services being integrated into Air India flights. The airline’s widebody fleet has also been bolstered by the addition of six A350 aircraft currently operating between Delhi and London, with plans for future service to New York.Passengers will enjoy enhanced connectivity to over 90 destinations, along with access to an additional 800 locations through Air India’s codeshare and interline partnerships. Existing bookings remain unaffected, and new flight details will be communicated to passengers.
