Imphal:On October 19, suspected Kuki militants launched an assault on the Bodobekra Police Station in the Bodobekra sub-division of Manipur’s Jiribam district. The attack occurred around 5:30 AM, with the militants firing multiple rounds and throwing explosive devices at the eastern perimeter of the police facility.In response, security personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Manipur Police engaged in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Despite their immediate counteraction, the militants managed to flee the scene, evading capture amidst the chaotic confrontation.In the aftermath of the attack, local authorities have intensified search operations in the surrounding areas, deploying additional security units to locate those responsible for the assault. Heightened security measures have been implemented in the district as officials work to deter further militant activities and restore safety for residents.
