The Asom Gana Parishad announces Diptimoyee Choudhury as its candidate for the Assam Assembly by-polls, scheduled for November 13, as other parties finalize their nominations.

Guwahati: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has officially put forward Diptimoyee Choudhury as its candidate for the forthcoming Assembly by-elections in Assam. Diptimoyee is married to Phani Bhushan Choudhury, the current Member of Parliament for Barpeta and a former MLA from Bongaigaon.

The by-elections will take place on November 13 across five constituencies: Bongaigaon, Sidli, Behali, Samaguri, and Dholai. Vote counting is scheduled for November 23. Key dates include the Gazette Notification release on October 18, the deadline for filing nomination papers on October 25, scrutiny of those nominations on October 28, and the option for candidates to withdraw their nominations by October 30.

In related news, the Congress party has also nominated candidates for the by-elections, including Dhrubajyoti Purakayastha for Dholai, Sanjib Warle for Sidli, Brajenjit Sinha for Bongaigaon, and Tanzil Hussain for Samaguri.
