Assam Chief Secretary to Assess Development Schemes Before Bye-Elections

Ahead of the bye-elections in Assam, Chief Secretary V.S. Bhaskar will review the progress of key development initiatives in Golaghat and Lakhimpur, ensuring effective governance and transparency.

Guwahati: In anticipation of the upcoming bye-elections in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has tasked Chief Secretary V.S. Bhaskar with a thorough review of various development schemes. This assessment will take place at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Dibrugarh from October 24 to 26, 2024.

During this two-day review, the Chief Secretary will concentrate on the status of 25 specific initiatives in the Golaghat and Lakhimpur districts. This in-depth evaluation underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that development projects are progressing smoothly and addressing any potential challenges before the elections.

In addition to reviewing the schemes, the Chief Secretary is expected to engage in several other scheduled activities, reflecting the government’s proactive stance on governance and transparency as the bye-elections approach.
