Guwahati :Shuddha Basumatari, the candidate representing the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) for the Sidli Legislative Assembly Constituency by-election, submitted his nomination papers on Friday, attracting a substantial crowd of supporters despite adverse weather conditions. The event took place at the district commissioner’s office in Kajolgaon, where the impressive turnout highlighted Basumatari’s strong grassroots backing.The final day for nomination submissions for five state constituencies saw BPF President Hagrama Mohilary rallying supporters at a large public gathering held at the district sports association’s playground in Sidli. During his address, Mohilary urged constituents to ensure a resounding victory for Basumatari, confidently projecting a winning margin of 80,000 votes.In his speech, Mohilary challenged the claims of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) regarding their previous electoral success, suggesting that if their victory were genuine, there would be no need for further celebrations.
