In a coordinated effort, security forces apprehended two Bangladeshi individuals attempting to illegally enter India near the Karimganj border, enhancing surveillance and border security measures.
Guwahati: In a recent operation at the India-Bangladesh border, security forces successfully detained two Bangladeshi nationals, Kobir Sikhdhar and Md. Selim, who were trying to cross into India without authorization. The apprehension occurred on Thursday near Karimganj, an area known for its sensitive border dynamics.
Officials reported that diligent monitoring of the border region enabled them to intercept the suspects during their attempt to enter India under the cover of darkness. This incident follows a previous operation on October 3, where the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended another Bangladeshi national attempting a similar illegal crossing in the same vicinity.
In response to a rise in unauthorized border crossings, Assam has stepped up security measures, deploying additional personnel and enhancing surveillance in vulnerable areas. Collaborating closely with the BSF, the Assam Police have implemented advanced monitoring technologies and strict patrols to deter illegal entries and bolster overall security along the border.
