Guwahati: On the night of December 14, police in Dhubri, Assam, conducted a successful raid, seizing a revolver and five live cartridges from the residence of Ayub Ali in Hardemara, Chapar. The operation, which followed a tip-off, was carried out with the collaboration of officers from Bilasipara Sub-Division, Chapar Circle Police, and Salkocha Police.Upon arrival, the police faced resistance from Ayub Ali and his family, who reportedly confronted the officers, leading to a tense situation. The altercation escalated into an attack on the law enforcement personnel, and the entire incident was recorded on camera, providing critical evidence.During the search, authorities uncovered the firearm and ammunition buried in a pit at the house. In total, six individuals were arrested, including Ayub Ali, his wife Khudeja Khatun, his mother Alima Begum, along with three others: Tajnur Haque, Sanidul Islam, and Mojammil Haque.The arrested individuals have been taken to the police station for further investigation. Local authorities have intensified their efforts to combat the illegal arms trade in the region and are currently working to trace the origin of the seized weapon and ammunition.
