Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a major recruitment initiative for 4,500 teaching positions in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools across the state. This move is part of the government’s broader mission to generate 1.5 lakh government jobs by the year 2026.The application window for these positions will open from February 15 and will remain active until March 31. Interested candidates can apply through the official Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) website at dee.assam.gov.in.Earlier in 2024, during a ceremony for distributing appointment letters to new recruits in the Education Department, Chief Minister Sarma celebrated a significant milestone in job creation under the BJP-led government.He highlighted that since assuming office, the administration had provided government employment to 97,454 individuals. “Our government has prioritized merit-based hiring to eliminate corruption and favoritism that previously plagued recruitment processes,” he stated.Chief Minister Sarma further emphasized the administration’s commitment to fostering transparency and fairness in hiring, noting that bribery was a common practice in securing government jobs in the past.Congratulating the new recruits, he reaffirmed the government’s focus on expanding employment opportunities. “Our ultimate goal is to offer jobs to 150,000 young people in Assam, laying the foundation for a brighter and more prosperous future for the state,” he remarked.
