The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Guwahati, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, commenced a two-day Photo Exhibition and Awareness Programme from today at Rajamayong, Morigaon, Assam.

Guwahati: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Guwahati, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, commenced a two-day Photo Exhibition and Awareness Programme from today at Rajamayong, Morigaon, Assam. The event focuses on the themes of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Swachhata Hi Seva, and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, aiming to foster unity, environmental awareness, and community participation.Highlighting the significance of environmental conservation, Shri Pranjal Baruah, Forest Range Officer, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, addressed the gathering. In his speech, he stated, “We should conserve the environment as it is vital to maintaining the balance between nature and humanity.”Social worker and Founder Principal of Mayong College, Dr. Phanibhushan Nath, underscored the essence of national unity, saying, “Unity in diversity is not just a slogan; it is the strength and soul of our nation. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat embodies this spirit, fostering cultural harmony, mutual understanding, and collective progress across India’s diverse states and communities.”The inaugural session was also graced by Shri Kripa Sankar Yadav, Additional Director General, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, who emphasized the importance of these initiatives in promoting sustainable development and cultural harmony.A cleanliness drive and plantation activity were organized as part of the initiatives – Swachhata Hi Seva and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. School students and local residents actively participated, promoting the message of a cleaner and greener environment.The photo exhibition showcased panels on the theme of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage and diversity. An art competition on the theme of Swachhata Hi Seva saw enthusiastic participation from over 80 students.An open quiz competition was also conducted among the public, and winners were presented with prizes on the spot. The event also featured cultural performances by departmental artists from CBC Guwahati, based on the themes of the initiative, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience.Self-help group stalls were set up at the venue, displaying traditional and handmade items, providing a platform for local artisans to showcase their skills and crafts.The programme will continue tomorrow with more activities to engage and inspire the community. The exhibition is free and open for all.
