Tripura: Body of missing man found floating on river in Bangladesh

Guwahati: The decomposed body of a man was found in a river in neighbouring Bangladesh on Monday, officials said.

On September 1, a 48-year e-rickshaw identified as Dwijraj Ghosh had gone missing from Tripura’s Khowai district.

The body of Ghosh, who suffered severe injuries, was recovered floating on the River Khowai in the Habiganj district of Bangladesh, officially added.

Police suspected that the miscreants killed Ghosh and dumped his body in the river, which continued to flow into the neighbouring country.

Ghosh’s body was recovered by the people of Shaistaganj on Sunday. However, locals informed the police, the official further added.

They were able to identify the body due to a driving licence they found in his pocket, sources said.

As per the official, the BSF urged to take up the matter with Border Guard Bangladesh so that we get the body.

After receiving the body, a post-mortem examination will be conducted, the official said.
