Eight Goa Congress MLA’s join BJP

In a latest development, in Goa politics, as many as eight Goa Congress MLA’s joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on today.

All the eight Congress MLAs who joined BJP in Goa are– Digambar Kamat, Kedar Naik, Sankalp Amonkar, Michael Lobo, Delilah Lobo,Aleixo Sequeira, Rudolf Fernandes, and Rajesh Phaldesai.

They all joined BJP after meeting Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant at the Assembly complex today.

As per reports, frmer Congress MLA Michael Lobo was reported said that they have merged with BJP with a majority of 2/3rd to strengthen the hands of PM Modi and CM Pramod Sawant.

While welcoming the leaders, Goa CM Sawant toke a jibe at Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra by saying that “Congress Chhodo Yatra will begin from Goa now.”

In the 40-member House, the BJP already has a majority of 25, including its own 20 MLAs, two representatives from the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, and three independent politicians.

BJP in the state has now 33 members after the addition of eight MLAs from the Congress.
