Assam: Two govt officials arrested while taking bribes in different ops
Guwahati: The vigilance and anti-corruption wing of Assam police arrested two government officials for taking bribes on Saturday.
The arrested government officials were identified as Jahnabi Kalita, Inspector of Drugs of Jorhat district and Mahabub Mollah, Senior Assistant of Circle officer of Bilasipara in Dhubri district.
The teams of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption laid a trap and caught them red-handed in two separate operations.
According to the official, Kalita was arrested while accepting demanded money for issuing a Licence to the complainant for starting a Pharmacy.
Meanwhile, Mollah was arrested for accepting demanded money for processing the land mutation work of the complainant.
Taking to Twitter, Assam Special DGP, GP Singh, “Smt Jahnabi Kalita, Inspector of Drugs Jorhat has been trapped and arrested red handed today by team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM while accepting demanded money for issuing a Licence to the complainant for starting a Pharmacy.”
“Second for the day. Sri Mahabub Mollah Senior Assistant o/o Circle officer Bilasipara District Dhubri has been trapped and arrested red handed today by team of Directorate Vigilance & Anti Corruption Assam while accepting demanded money for processing the land mutation work of the complainant”, Singh tweeted.
