Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu today said that the state government is expediting the recruiting process to fill more than one lakh vacancies.

Addressing a press meeting, the minister said that teachers with grace marks would be appointed.

Although the court case is still pending, he stated that obstacles would be lifted. It has been decided to recruit college professors and TET graduates.

On September 23, significant appointments will once again be made, and up to 4,717 teachers will get appointment letters.

The minister said that following the court’s ruling, 298 TET exam applicants who were chosen for appointments would shortly have a white paper from the education department released.

He added that since 2011, the education department has experienced significant changes and that work is also being done to strengthen the infrastructure.

For the position of teacher, advertisements will soon be released.
