Assam: Lat Mandal Arrested Red-Handed While Accepting Bribe In Nagaon

Guwahati: A Lat Mandal of circle officer, Nagaon Sadar has been arrested for allegedly demanding a bribe for processing the land mutation work of the complainant on Friday.

The accused has been identified as Ranjit Mahanta.

Sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has been trapped and arrested red-handed while accepting demanded money.

Taking to Twitter, Special Director General of Police GP Singh wrote, “Sri Ranjit Mahanta Lat Mondal o/o Circle officer Nagaon Sadar has been trapped and arrested red-handed today by a team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM while accepting demanded money for processing the land mutation work of the complainant.”

Meanwhile, the anti-corruption cell along with the Assam police is keeping a strict vigil to curb all kinds of corruption activities across the state.
