Guwahati: A snake was spotted on the field during the 2nd T20I between India and South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday.
The incident took place after the end of the seventh over of the Indian innings when the play was suddenly halted.
Security officials from the Barsapara Stadium quickly reached the spot to evacuate the snake.
At the start of the eighth over, after a brief 10-minute delay, play began again.
Meanwhile, the television commentators stated that another snake was spotted before the start of play in the 2nd T20I.
However, the drama as the Barsapara Stadium did not end there.
For a second time in the match, again play was halted due to a power failure during the South African innings.
The lights suddenly went off causing the game to be stopped before the power was restored and India and South Africa carried on with the game.
