APPSC Paper Leak Case: CBI Raids 16 Locations

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted raids at around 16 different locations in three states in an ongoing investigation of a case related to the alleged question paper leak case of the examination for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) conducted by Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).

Raids were carried out at 16 locations in Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh, according to a statement from the CBI.

Incriminating documents and items, including fake or counterfeit stamps of the Executive Magistrate of Arunachal Pradesh, Executive Engineer, State Bank of India, Hard discs, pen drives, etc., were found during the searches.

The accused named in the FIR were identified as Akhilesh Yadav of Jeju Institute in Itanagar and unknown officials of APPSC.

On the basis of a complaint regarding the alleged leakage of question papers previous to the written examination for the position of Assistant Engineer (Civil) conducted by APPSC on August 26 and 27, 2022, the above said case was filed against a private person of a Coaching Institute in Itanagar and unknown officials.

The complainant (a candidate) claimed that the accused (a teacher at the institute) had questions for the allegedly leaked examination and that he had done so in collusion with unidentified APPSC officials.
