Reacting to it the Israeli ambassador said, ‘The friendship between India and Israel is very strong. Nadav Lapid’s statement will do no harm. We are ashamed of this statement and want to apologize to our hosts for it. You are free to criticize what you dislike in Israel, but there is no need to make statements on other countries.

Nadav Lapid called Kashmir files obscene. On Monday, IFFI jury chief Nadav Lapid had described the film ‘Kashmir Files’ as obscene at the closing ceremony of the film festival. After his statement went viral, a controversy has arisen over it. The Israeli envoy said that Nadav Lapid misused the Indian invitation to chair the panel of judges at IFFI Goa.

IFFI jury head Nadav Lapid termed the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ as ‘obscene’ and ‘inappropriate’. Lapid said, “All 15 of us members were disturbed and appalled by the film ‘The Kashmir Files’. It struck us as a propaganda, pornographic film, inappropriate for the artistically competitive section of such a prestigious film festival.”
