New Delhi: Diamond merchant Nirav Modi, accused in the Rs 13,000-crore PNB scam, has been extradited to India. In November last year, the London High Court had ordered his return to India. He then sought permission to appeal to the Supreme Court. But on Thursday, the High Court dismissed his RGO. As a result, the possibility of returning the fugitive businessman to the country has become very strong.
Nirav Modi had fled the country after being duped in several indian banks, including PNB. Similarly, his relative Mehul Choksi escaped. On March 14, 2019, Nirav Modi was arrested while trying to open an account in a bank in London. Since then, India has been trying to bring him back to the country.
