Mumbai: The opening stage of the 28th Kolkata Film Festival became a protest stage. In particular, the statements of Bollywood’s ‘Pathan’ Shah Rukh Khan and Bollywood ‘Shahenshah’ Amitabh Bachchan have heard the tone of opposition to the Center’s interference in the freedom of speech. On the one hand, Shah Rukh, like the boycott debate of ‘Pathan’ on the opening stage, on the other hand, Amitabh questioned the freedom of expression and speech in the film. In Amitabh’s speech, the issue of censorship also came up.
Amitabh Bachchan said, “The Cinematograph Act of 1952 laid down the structure of censorship which is still maintained by the Central Board of Film Certification. But the men and women still present, my colleagues on the stage, will agree with me that nowadays, civil liberties and freedom of expression are being questioned. ’
